The weekend weather report was for a cold and sunny day with no wind, perfect for a resupply mission. I was glad I took my snowshoes, I took a few photos on the way to get everyone excited about the year ahead. I arrived about 1pm and found the hut as neat as a pin, a testament to the public and members who visit and care for Cleve Cole's memory.
As it turned out, a bit of a crowd turned up, and a fine evening was had sharing the hut with past Mt Bogong Club office holders Rob and Keith, a couple of highly optimistic ice climbers on skis and a pair of younger couples, perhaps not quite so pleased they had to share the hut. But you take your chances...
The new steps look excellent, you would think they were original and Gordies work on the new hearth was a great improvement. The new gas stove is a revelation! Keith also supplied some new pots.
Sunday morning, hard and fast over the ice, looking south to snow on Falls Creek and Saturday morning looking north from Hell Gap on one of those few days when it was not very Hellish.
Non circum coimus!!!
